On Eventide, Houston, Texas' Tanner Garza, gives us a new dose of what he is exceedingly becoming known for, mysterious and enchanting tape loop drones.
Recorded during the ninth month of his wife's pregnancy these song forms take on the darkness of an embryonic slumber. Using synths, bass and tape loop manipulations the four songs on Eventide slowly take us into the far corners where lightness is seldom seen. That being said, we find immense beauty in his journey.
As The Quietus stated about Tanner's last release in their top 20 tapes of 2015:
It's vast, it's unfocused, it's impossible to sit all the way through - but it still pretty much renders all other excursions into ambient drone pretty much irrelevant.
